With this purchase, you need to send your battery to us to be rebuilt. We DO NOT sell new or already rebuilt batteries.

Charging Recommendations

1. Always ensure that the battery is not hot and is at room temperature before charging.

2. Once charged, remove the battery from the charger. Do not store the battery on the charger for extended periods of time. Please note that storing a battery in a charger that is not plugged into the wall, can potentially cause the battery to drain back into the charger. This was more common with older chargers and we have also noted it in some newer chargers.

3. It is recommended to not store the battery on the device when not in use. Storing the battery separately removes the possibility of the device slowly draining the battery. 

4. If you have not used the battery for 2-3 months, we would recommend recharging the battery and if possible, use them. This helps maintain their health.

5. Lastly, be sure to store your battery in a dry environment. If possible, avoid temperatures below freezing and above 110F to maximize battery life.

Shipping

NiCad & NiMH batteries are dry cell batteries and are not regulated as long as they are protected from becoming shorted during transit. No special packaging or labeling is required.

SAFETY NOTE: The 3M Charger for this battery charges faster than would be recommended for this size battery. This generates excessive heat and causes the batteries to fail prematurely. When we rebuild these batteries we install thermostats into the batteries to protect them against heat. These thermostats will open if they get hot enough and stop the charger from charging the batteries until they cool down. If this occurs, you may receive a red light on the charger and the battery may not work in the device until it is allowed to cool. This feature is done to prolong the battery life and offer additional protection.

New BP-15 Battery **Medical Use Review**

As many of you already know, in the midst of the pandemic 3M BP-15 battery packs were impossible to find. We use these battery packs within our medical facility to help protect our staff. MTO Battery had their staff working 12-14hr days to try to keep up with the demand during these times. Our order was expedited at no additional cost since we were a medical provider. In just 3 business days MTO Battery had our 3M Breathe Easy Turbo PAPR battery packs rebuilt and shipped. The performance of the batteries is great. As others have reported, the OEM 3M battery packs normally only lasted us a year. The engineer at MTO explained to me that they modify the assembly to better protect it during charging. This provides a longer usable life for the battery.

There are other rebuilders out there for these batteries. I did extensive research and chose MTO Battery based on their reputation, the fact that they are a military supplier, and because they answered the phone and promptly and effectively answered my questions.

Works better than new

MTO rebuilt my 3M BP-15 PAPR battery and it has been flawless ever since. I use it daily for my welding job and I have actually had it now for nearly two years now!! When I was buying new ones, I would get an average of 1yr out of them before they needed to be replaced. BP-15 Battery Rebuild

The battery arrived back about a week after I shipped it. To be honest, I didn't even think it was repaired because I could not see where it was opened. I plugged it up to the 3M charger and it charged up fine. I used it yesterday and it lasted much longer than my other batteries. The service I received was great and I was advised of shipment data once it was available. This is a great battery repair place.
