Description

This rental unit plugs directly into your SEGWAY® PN#20967-00001 73.6V lithium battery pack and comes with its own power supply. This device is specifically designed to allow lithium batteries that have been over-discharged to get to a voltage where the Segway charger is capable of recognizing it again, if the battery is viable. If your batteries are 3-4yr old or less this machine is likely to be for you. Are you not sure how old your batteries are? Click here to learn where to check. If your lithium cells are older, have leaked, are dead from usage, or just starting to get weak this unit will not work for you. This unit will allow you to run five reconditioning cycles for this fee. This is enough cycles to recondition two SEGWAY® lithium battery packs if their condition allows. Due to the many factors related to successful battery reconditioning we cannot and shall not guarantee or accurately predict reconditioning results for any given situation or battery. $500 Security Deposit - $325 Refund when returned on time in excellent condition. $175+S&H is the final cost for the rental. The maximum amount of time this unit is to be in customer possession is 5 business days (Excluding shipping time). An additional fee of $30/day will apply if it is kept for longer. The final fees for this rental are non-refundable.

Roll the dice

I rented this device twice because I had 4 batteries to recondition. The first time I was able to recover 2 batteries and the second time I was able to recover one more. For my out-of-pocket expenses I made out very well getting three out of the four working again. You just need to be realistic with your expectations and understand you are trying to bring back a battery that has been abused by neglect.

Charge your darn batteries

I was an idiot and left my Segway sit without charging it for nearly 6mo. I rented this little gem and after about 30min my Segway was charging my overdischarged battery again and I am now back in business. It's not a cheap rental but you can save buying a new battery if it works.

MTO people are the Best

Simple to use and effective. I bought a used X2 SE and batteries were left unplugged for at least two years. It took two cycles for each of the batteries before they would charge. Please note that at the end of each cycle the unit showed a red light for failure. There is a notation to put the battery in after each attempt to see if it will charge on the Segway. Even though the reconditioner showed red the batteries started to charge in the Segway. Home Run!!

Partial Success

I had to red lights on my Segway after we left the machine off charge for about 6 months by accident. We rented this device from MTO and had limited success. We were able to recover one battery but the other was still non-functional. While I was somewhat disappointed I must say the rental fee more than paid for itself since I only needed to get one battery repaired. I knew it was a gamble going into it and I came out ahead. Better than my last trip to Atlantic City :)
