LITHIUM BATTERIES ARE VOLATILE IF USED IMPROPERLY. PLEASE THROROUGHLY READ THE SAFETY PRECAUTIONS BELOW BEFORE PURCHASING. BY PURCHASING LITHIUM BATTERIES FROM US YOU (THE BUYER) ACCEPTS ANY AND ALL LIABILITY FOR THE USE/MISUSE OF THEM. BATTERY BUILDERS/MTO BATTERY SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES UNDER ANY THEORY OF LIABILITY.
1. Use only a charger designed for lithium (NOT A NICAD/NiMH charger). Never charge unattended. When charging place the charger and batteries in or on a fire proof surface.
2. Test each battery prior to use to make sure it is not defective. Batteries measuring less than 3V should not be used and should be returned immediately.
3. If the batteries exceed 160 degrees Fahrenheit discontinue use and place battery outside in a safe fire proof place to observe. If your battery swells or starts to smoke get away from it immediately. These are signs that there is a chemical reaction going on inside that will cause the battery to ignite and burn violently. It is possible for it to take a few hours for the reaction to complete and ignite. It may also happen in a few seconds. Please take the appropriate safety precautions when dealing with a possible battery failure.
4. Never charge your battery any faster than a 1C charge rate. 1C = mAh value/1000 (Example: 2000mAh battery has a max charge rate of 2A)
5. Voltage on a fully charged LiIon battery should be about 4.2V per cell. If it is much higher you may be charging the batteries improperly or have a defective charger.
6. Never store your batteries in your car as extreme temperatures can cause damage and/or fire.
7. Soldering directly onto lithium cells is not recommended.
